Chondroitin sulfate ,a sulfated glycosaminoglycan (GAG) is usually found attached to proteins as
part of a proteoglycan. It is an important structural component of cartilage and provides much of
its resistance to compression.Chondroitin sulfate can be made from extracts of cartilaginous cow
and pig tissues,and shark,fish and bird,as well.
Clinical studies have not identified any significant side effects or overdoses of chondroitin sulfate,
and suggested its long-term safety.

2.Application and Indication
It,often in a combination with glucosamine, has been widely used in dietary supplement as an alternative medicine for treatment of osteoarthritis,and also approved and regulated in Europe as a symptomatic slow-acting drug for this disease. Of course,the supplementation helps maintain normal joint function.
It is also claimed Chondroitin Sulfate can lower the risk of having a heart attack, and lower high cholesterol.
